Results of May 3, 2008 Fun trial
Gary Schroeder Chairman
The fun trial was a great success. Because the Open and Amateur trials were canceled, we had 28 dogs or 14 braces. Weather could have been better. We had some rain and it was cool and overcast most of the time.
Because our regular bird planter, David, got busted for playing hooky and got Saturday detention we took turns planting birds.
Cliff and Dominic were great, but I had two escapes and one fly off on one plant. I threatened to fire me and Dominic wanted to go bail out David.
We had lots of volunteer judges and other help. Walt and his
wonderful wife are turning into professional fun trial runners and
were a huge help. Their dog Baxter won the rising star ribbon too.
A big thanks to everyone who came out and an extra big thank you for all those who helped make this fun trial such a great time!
At the end of the day the placements were:
1. Mark Spong with his 1.5 year old English Setter Sugar
2. Gary Schroeder with his 4 year old German Wirehaired Pointer
Millie. Millie scored 300 points better on 2d run and was high scoring dog at the trial.
3. Gregg Sorenson with his 2 year old Brittany Casey
4. Tod Emory with his 3 year old Brittany Deuce Brit
Derby dogs took 1st and 3rd in fun trial but since they had already
placed they were not eligible for the Derby prize. Walt Shinnell with
his 10 month old German Shorthaired Pointer Baxter took the blue
ribbon among the derby dogs.
